Globally popular K-pop girl group BLACKPINK’s member Jisoo is all set to star in her second K-drama. The singer-actress will be seen in Newtopia, a romantic fantasy series set in the backdrop of a zombie outbreak in Seoul.
Talking about her exciting and thrilling show, Jisoo said, “During the pre-production phase, they showed us some prototypes of the zombies, and many of them were unlike anything I had ever seen before. I haven’t had a chance to see how they translated onto the screen yet, so I’m very curious.”
She added, “Some of the zombies don’t resemble humans at all and look quite unique, so I think a lot of viewers will go, ‘Oh, I never imagined zombies could be designed this way.'” The K-pop star then revealed that whenever situations or emotions started to feel too heavy on the sets, the actors would take turns breaking the grave mood.
Newtopia will premiere on Prime Video and Coupang Play on February 7th.
