Tahira Kashyap, a famous filmmaker, writer, producer, and Ayushmann Khurrana’s wife was diagnosed with cancer back in 2018. Since the time, she was diagnosed with cancer, she has been vocal about the same. Tahira fought a hard battle with cancer, and in 2020, she declared herself to be cancer-free. Tahira’s breast cancer treatment was completed in 2019. She would often share photos to speak her heart out about her battle with cancer and to spread awareness. In a recent interview, Tahira shared how her parents were left upset about her sharing bald photos during her cancer battle.

In a recent interview with Filmfare, Tahira Kashyap shared that when she posted her bald photos on her social media handle, her parents were left upset with her. So much so that they even refused to talk to Tahira and asked her how she could even post such photos while forcing her to take the snapshots down. Tahira said that she straightaway refused to follow the same and let them know that she was celebrating this, which left her parents to question if she had lost it as they were not sure about how physical illness could be celebrated. Tahira can be quoted as saying:
“My parents got really upset with me when I put my bald picture of myself (after the cancer diagnosis). A bald look for a woman is synonymous for a disaster somehow, so they refused to talk to me and were forcing me to take it down. But I said, ‘I am not doing that. I am celebrating right now, which you need to understand.’ They actually thought I have lost it. They were like how can you celebrate physical illness?”
