Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh made a rare public appearance in Mumbai on Tuesday. The parents-to-be stepped out for a quiet, laid-back lunch date to enjoy some delicious benne dosas, making the most of their quiet moments together as they await the arrival of their second child. The couple was spotted at Benne, a popular restaurant in Chowpatty, Mumbai. Surrounded by a tight security team, Deepika and Ranveer kept their outing completely low-key and casual. Several videos of the couple exiting the restaurant after enjoying a hearty meal have caught attention on social media. For their midday date, the duo opted for comfortable casual wear. Deepika wore a relaxed co-ord set, while Ranveer kept things simple in a T-shirt paired with black pants. Both finished their understated looks with face masks as they made their way through the crowd to their car. In the videos circulating online, Deepika’s security team can also be seen actively requesting onlookers and fans not to record the couple during their exit.
This is not the first time the couple has been seen at Benne. Previously, they visited the spot to celebrate the success of Ranveer’s film, Dhurandhar: The Revenge. The latest lunch date gained further social media traction after the café’s official Instagram account shared a warm group selfie taken inside the venue. Joining the star couple in the picture was Ranveer’s father, Jagjit Singh Bhavnani, alongside members of the restaurant staff. The entire group flashed happy smiles for the camera. The restaurant shared the image with a playful caption that read, “Something and all is happening pt.2 #benne #chowpatty.”
Earlier this year, Deepika and Ranveer shared a joint Instagram post to announce that they are all set to embrace parenthood once again. Deepika had posted a picture of their first daughter, Dua Padukone Singh, holding a pregnancy test displaying two distinct pink lines, the universal symbol for a positive pregnancy result. In the picture, both Ranveer and Deepika’s hands could be seen holding their daughter. Deepika had captioned the pregnancy announcement post using only evil eye emojis.
On the work front, Deepika has a busy lineup despite her pregnancy. Apart from King with Shah Rukh Khan, she is involved with her upcoming movie Raaka, co-starring Allu Arjun. The film is being directed by Atlee and is expected to release in theatres in 2027. Meanwhile, Ranveer was last seen on the big screen in Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar The Revenge. He has also been making headlines lately due to an ongoing rift with Farhan Akhtar on Don 3. He is also currently involved in the making of his next film, Pralay.
