Canadian actor Scott Hylands has died at 83. He passed away on July 29, 2026, with the news shared by his son Luke a few days later. Hylands enjoyed a long career across film, TV and theatre, and was widely recognised for playing ‘Detective Kevin O’Brien’ in the 1980s series Night Heat, along with roles in Fargo, The X-Files, and NYPD Blue. Outside the entertainment industry, he also had a family. Scott was married to Veronica Hylands, and they had two children, Luke and Rebecca.
