On Tuesday evening, Jr NTR’s PR team announced that the actor would undergo shoulder surgery. According to the latest reports, the surgery was successfully completed on Wednesday morning. The actor is currently recuperating in hospital and is accompanied by his family and cousins.
Jr NTR to resume shooting soon
Jr NTR hurt his shoulder in late July while shooting a heavy action scene for Dragon. The accident occurred during the recent schedule of director Prashanth Neel’s film. After a comprehensive medical evaluation, a team of doctors recommended complete rest for six to eight weeks to allow the shoulder to heal naturally. A team of specialists assessed the extent of the injury and determined that adequate rehabilitation was essential before he resumed filming. At the time, Jr NTR’s team assured everyone that there was nothing to panic about. They also shared that they would provide updates from time to time on the actor’s path to recovery.
Surgical procedure, the safest path
Jr NTR is expected to return to the sets in the last week of September. The actor is keen to wrap up the shooting and doesn’t want to miss the film’s release deadline. Dragon is scheduled to be released in theatres on June 11, 2027. After he returns to the sets, the RRR star will have to shoot for longer durations and undertake extended schedules to compensate for the lost time. The Dragon team has continued shooting with other members of the cast, including Anil Kapoor.
Since Dragon is a high-octane, action-heavy film, both the medical team and the actor decided that a surgical procedure was the safest path to ensure his long-term fitness, rather than risk further damage on set. Meanwhile, fans are praying for Jr NTR’s quick recovery following the latest accident.
