Dr. Kirk Heilbrun, a forensic psychiatrist testifying for the prosecution in rebuttal, told jurors that Clancy described hearing a voice repeatedly telling her to take her kids’ lives before she took her own. His testimony came after the defense argued that Clancy was experiencing severe postpartum psychosis and was unable to control her actions or understand the wrongfulness of what she was doing.
Clancy has pleaded not guilty to three counts of first-degree murder in connection with the deaths of her children, Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months old.
