Chandrachur Singh Files FIR Against Aunt Cousins Over Alleged Forgery of Grandfatherâs Will

Actor Chandrachur Singh has approached the police over a family property dispute involving his ancestral estate in Aligarh. The actor has filed an FIR against his aunt Gaytri Devi, two cousins and four others, alleging that his grandfather’s will was forged and used to deny his late father, Captain Baldev Singh, his share of the family inheritance. Police have registered the case and begun investigating the allegations.
According to the complaint filed at Rorawar police station on Friday, Chandrachur has alleged that the signature of his grandfather, Thakur Harender Pal Singh, was forged on a will in 1997. Harender Pal Singh was a prominent landowner from Jalalpur village on the outskirts of Aligarh. Chandrachur has claimed that his grandfather was critically ill at the time and was not in a condition to sign such documents.

The actor has further alleged that his uncle Ganga Singh and other family members were involved in the alleged forgery. According to his complaint, the disputed will subsequently resulted in his father being deprived of his inheritance. Chandrachur has also claimed that his father was not present in Aligarh when the will was allegedly executed.
The dispute concerns the family’s ancestral properties in and around Jalalpur, including their old family haveli. Chandrachur has alleged that a significant portion of the properties that came under the disputed will was later sold over the years. He has told reporters that he has collected evidence to support his allegations and recorded his statement with the police following the filing of the FIR.

The family property dispute had come into the public eye last year when Chandrachur and his family sought the intervention of the Aligarh district administration. At the time, Gaytri Devi rejected the allegations, calling them false, and maintained that the will was genuine. She had also accused Chandrachur of attempting to falsely implicate her.
Chandrachur comes from a family with political and royal connections. His late father, Captain Baldev Singh, was a former MLA from Aligarh, while his mother, Krishna Kumari Devi, belongs to the former royal family of Bolangir in Odisha.
Chandrachur made his acting debut with Tere Mere Sapne in 1996. His breakthrough came with Gulzar’s Maachis. He went on to appear in films including Daag: The Fire, Dil Kya Kare, Josh and Kya Kehna.
