When it was announced that Ravi Teja-starrer Irumudi would release on August 21, just five days ahead of Yash’s Toxic on August 26, the development did not excite the trade. Predicting that the clash would go in Yash’s favour, many believed the makers of Irumudi would eventually reschedule the film. Moreover, with Ravi Teja’s recent box-office outings failing to make an impact, many felt that a postponement was inevitable. But the box-office result turned out to be quite different.
