At the music launch of Mirzapur: The Movie in Mumbai, actor-politician Ravi Kishan made an energetic appearance. Joining co-stars Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal, Divyenndu, Jitendra Kumar and Sonal Chauhan, Kishan stole the show by dancing onstage with Chauhan to the song Ghoom Ghoom. Just three weeks ago, Ravi Kishan recreated his viral dance move with the paparazzi, while co-stars Divyenndu and Ali Fazal joined in, turning the playful moment into a hilarious reunion.
A major portion of his speech was dedicated to praising Sonal. He called her a “shakti” and explained that while shooting a song in extremely cold temperatures, he and Divyenndu were wearing warm clothes, whereas Sonal continued filming despite the cold and wind.
Strong advance ticket bookings
Kishan also praised director Gurmmeet Singh and writer Puneet Krishna for integrating his character, Babban, into the story. Babban falls for Sonal’s character, Mumtaz. Kishan also mentioned the film’s strong advance ticket bookings and promised fans an entertaining theatrical experience when the film releases on September 4. John Stewart Eduri has composed the background score.
A bigger, darker story
Mirzapur: The Movie aims to expand the hit series into a grander world, with bigger action, darker storytelling and higher stakes. The makers aim to retain the franchise’s raw characters and power struggles while introducing new conflicts, twists and characters.
Its trailer brought back Kaleen Bhaiya, Munna Bhaiya and Guddu Pandit for a larger, more intense battle for control of Mirzapur. Kaleen Bhaiya remains determined to protect his throne, while Munna embraces his position as heir. Guddu and Bablu emerge as threats to their power.
The trailer also introduces new characters, including Ravi Kishan, while Jitendra Kumar replaces Vikrant Massey as Bablu. Anangsha Biswas, Shaji Chaudhary, Satendra Soni, Kulbhushan Kharbanda and Sushant Singh also feature in pivotal roles.
