Daayra is creating waves in the industry after its trailer release yesterday. Many celebrities have come forward to express their sheer delight in watching both Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran join forces in this new cop-chase thriller. One such star is the talented Vicky Kaushal.
Vicky Kaushal is no stranger to Megna Gulzar’s proficiency as a director, having worked with her in Raazi and Sam Bahadur. In light of the new release, Vicky Kaushal used the power of his social media to share his thoughts on the director and the movie.

Both Vicky Kaushal and Meghna Gulzar have always shared a bond, openly praising each other during interviews as well as playful teases. There was a specific occasion where Gulzar Sahab jokingly addressed that he was unable to impress his daughter, Meghna Gulzar. Vicky in quick-witted fashion replied, “Beti kiski hai” (Like father like daughter). This bond has brewed over the years through the projects they have collaborated on.
Meghna Gulzar had worked with Vicky Kaushal on two projects in the past, namely Raazi (2018) and Sam Bahadur (2023). In Raazi, Vicky played the role of a Pakistani military officer, Iqbal, while in Sam Bahadur he plays the role of the protagonist Sam Manekshaw. Both these films went on to become commercial and critical hits, with Vicky Kaushal shining with his immersive performances.
Vicky Kaushal is currently in the middle of shooting multiple projects with Love & War by Sanjay Leela Bhansali having a possible release in 2027. Similarly, even Amar Kaushik’s Mahavatar is expected to release sometime next year. Keep watching this space for all the updates.
