Ganesh Chaturthi has always brought out a different side of Bollywood, and today was no exception. Across the city, actors welcomed Bappa home with family, dressed the part, and shared glimpses of their celebrations online. For many, this isn’t a one-off gesture. It’s a tradition passed down through generations, some marking decades of bringing the idol home on this exact day every year.
The fashion, as always, leaned festive and rooted. Think handwoven silk sarees, crisp kurtas, and pops of yellow and red, colours considered auspicious for the occasion. A few stars even shared idols crafted by family members at home, turning the celebration into something deeply personal.
Others chose to step out entirely, visiting close friends’ homes or some of the city’s most iconic public installations, soaking in the community spirit the festival is known for. Aartis were performed, modaks were shared, and social media was flooded with reels and pictures capturing the joy of the day.
What stood out, as it does every year, was how genuinely rooted this celebration feels for the industry. Beyond the glamour, it’s family, faith and a decade-old ritual that continues, unchanged. See the pictures here:
