For the unversed in Mrs., Kanwaljit plays the orthodox and strict father-in-law to Sanya, who plays the character of ‘Richa’. He is not happy with the way she cooks, always finds faults, and does not let her work, and the setting of his home is shown to be patriarchal. During an interview with India Today, the actor shared that he had shot for the movie a long time back and had not remembered his role. When he was invited by the production team for the red carpet event he remembered the shooting and said:
“All I remember was how I ate a lot of food; otherwise, I didn’t remember much. Since that film, I have shot for almost four other projects, so I had forgotten all about the character. When I saw the film, I felt so disgusted that I instantly went to Sanya and said sorry.”
