
Indian cricketer, Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma reportedly are officially separated. On February 21, 2025, social media exploded with the news of the couple separating, while divorce proceeding formalities were completed on February 20, 2025. The hearing reportedly happened at Mumbai’s Bandra Court. Earlier, there were reports that Yuzi had to pay Rs. 60 crore alimony to Dhanashree. Now, one of her family members has called the rumour baseless and has reacted to the claims.

Dhanashree’s lawyer, Advocate Aditi Mohoni, stated in a statement to the Bombay Times stated that the matter is currently sub judice and that the media needed to fact-check before reporting, as a lot of misleading information is being circulated. There was a lot of outrage against Dhanshree when reports that Chahal had to pay a hefty amount of Rs. 60 crore to Dhanashree. She was called as a ‘gold digger’ and an opportunist. One of her family members who wanted to be anonymous told the Bombay Times:
“We are deeply outraged by the baseless claims being circulated about the alimony figure. Let me be absolutely clear. No such amount has ever been asked, demanded, or even offered. There is no truth to these rumors whatsoever. It is deeply irresponsible to publish such unverified information, dragging not just the parties but also their families into unnecessary speculation.”
