While introducing Gauri to the media, Aamir revealed that she is not a Bollywood buff and has not seen many of his films. When asked how he fell in love with Gauri, Aamir replied that the two crossed paths 25 years back but lost touch. It was years later that the two reconnected with each other. Stating what made him fall in love with her, Aamir said:
“I was looking for someone I can be calm with, who gives me peace. And there she was.”
