After the massive success of Dhurandhar and its sequel, Dhurandhar: The Revenge, reports suggest that Aditya Dhar is planning to release a full-length behind-the-scenes documentary in theatres. The Dhurandhar franchise has become a phenomenal success, with both films combined reportedly crossing the Rs 3,000 crore mark at the box office. Given the immense fan following and the craze around the franchise, the makers are now looking to turn the filmmaking process itself into a big-screen experience.
According to a report by Hindustan Times, this documentary will feature extensive BTS footage and exclusive interviews with the cast. An insider shared, “The craze for Dhurandhar is so immense that the makers have decided to turn even the making of the film into a spectacle. All the BTS footage and cast interviews will be compiled into a full-length feature film, which will be released in theatres in the last quarter of 2026 and will later stream on OTT platforms along with the films.”
This explains why the film’s lead stars, Ranveer Singh and Arjun Rampal, have been absent from media interactions despite the movies’ record-breaking run. The source added, “All the major players in the film, including actors Ranveer Singh and Arjun Rampal, as well as director Aditya Dhar, are not doing any media interactions yet because their first interviews will be part of this BTS film, which will be released directly in theatres.”
To maintain the hype, the makers are ensuring that no footage leaks on social media before the theatrical release. While Aditya Dhar has been sharing posts on social media to thank his crew ranging from the action team to the makeup artists, he has only shared images, intentionally avoiding videos to keep the exclusive content for the documentary. This move marks a first for Indian cinema, potentially setting a new trend where the making of a blockbuster becomes a commercially viable theatrical release.
