In a quiet and spiritual start to the week, Akshay Kumar visited the Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain earlier today. He was accompanied by his mother-in-law and veteran actress Dimple Kapadia. The visit comes at an important time as Akshay prepares for the release of his upcoming film, Bhooth Bangla. The duo arrived at the temple, situated on the banks of the Shipra River, to participate in the morning rituals. Mahakaleshwar is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas dedicated to Lord Shiva and remains a site of deep religious importance for millions. Akshay was seen in a classic white kurta-pyjama, while Dimple Kapadia looked elegant in a blush-pink saree.
A video shared by ANI captured them offering prayers. After the darshan, Akshay took a moment to speak with the media about the experience. Sharing his thoughts, he said, “It was really good… I prayed for the entire country and my family. I prayed that our country may always excel and progress.”
Apart from the spiritual visit, Akshay has recently been in the spotlight for his candid reflections on his personal journey. During a recent appearance on his reality show, Wheel of Fortune, he spoke about his insecurities about his educational background. In an honest revelation, he shared, “Koi bhi insaan, khaaskar mujh jaisa jo zyada padha-likha nahi hai, main kabhi-kabhi bahut chhota mehsoos karta hoon aap jaise logon ke saamne.” (Any person, especially someone like me who isn’t that educated, sometimes feels very small in front of people like you.)
He further expressed a sense of regret, saying, “Kabhi-kabhi main sochta hoon mujhe padhna chahiye. Ab mehsoos hota hai ki kaash main padha hota. Lekin ab jab padhna chahta hoon tab bhi nahi padh sakta, kyunki mujhe padhna achha hi nahi lagta, bas itni si baat hai.” (Sometimes I think I should study. Now I wish I had. But even when I want to, I can’t because I just don’t feel like studying.)
On the work front, Akshay has a big release of Bhooth Bangla this April. The film is particularly special as it marks the reunion of Akshay Kumar and director Priyadarshan after nearly 14 years. Produced by Balaji Motion Pictures in association with Cape of Good Films, the project features a massive ensemble cast including Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Jisshu Sengupta, Asrani, and Wamiqa Gabbi.
