Akshay Kumar’s Bhooth Bangla has locked in a new release date and will now be hitting the theatres sooner! The film was initially supposed to be released on May 15 this year. But the makers have now announced that the Priyadarshan directorial will be released in April.
A new promotional video was shared, where we can see a black cat scratching off May 15 from the calendar, after which the revised release date is revealed. The film will now arrive in theatres on April 10.
Sharing the video, Akshay Kumar wrote, “Bhooth Bangla ka countdown rewind!”

The film features a stellar ensemble cast with icons like Akshay Kumar, Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Jisshu Sengupta, Asrani, and Wamiqa Gabbi. Parts of the film have also been shot across Rajasthan, Jaipur, and Hyderabad, adding rich visual texture to the narrative.
The makers had released the first poster last year that showed Akshay Kumar’s character sitting on the gate of a bungalow with a lantern in his hand. A second character poster showed him with a grin on his face as he licks milk from a bowl, and we see a black cat on his shoulders.
Talking about the partnership of Priyadarshan and Akshay Kumar, the duo has delivered several remarkable films such as Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Bhagam Bhag, Garam Masala and Hera Pheri.
Directed by Priyadarshan, Bhooth Bangla is produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R Kapoor, and Akshay Kumar’s production house, Cape of Good Films. The film is co-produced by Faara Sheikh and Vedant Baali. The story is written by Akash A Kaushik, and the screenplay is by Rohan Shankar, Abilash Nair and Priyadarshan.
