There has been a massive buzz around director Prashanth Neel’s upcoming collaboration with Jr NTR, titled Dragon. While fans have been eagerly awaiting every update about this project, the latest reports suggest a massive addition to the cast. Alia Bhatt is reportedly in talks to play a key role in the film.
According to recent reports, the makers are looking to bring Alia on board for a key character. If the deal goes through, Dragon will mark Alia Bhatt’s second venture into Telugu cinema, after her debut in RRR. While an official confirmation from the production house is still awaited, the news of her potential involvement has already sparked excitement among fans.
Prior to the news about Alia Bhatt, rumours were circulating that Shahid Kapoor might replace Tovino Thomas in the film. These casting developments indicate that the makers are aiming for a massive pan-India appeal.
As for the current status of the film, regular shooting for Dragon is already underway at Ramoji Film City. The production is being handled by Mythri Movie Makers and NTR Arts. While the lead female role is set to be played by Rukmini Vasanth, the inclusion of Alia Bhatt would add weight to the ensemble.
Fans won’t have to wait much longer for clarity. The makers are expected to make a series of official announcements on May 20, a date strategically chosen to coincide with Jr NTR’s birthday. It is expected that the official cast list and the theatrical release date will be revealed during these celebrations.
Alia Bhatt was last seen on the big screen in the 2024 film Jigra. She is currently gearing up for her next project, Alpha, which is scheduled to hit theatres on July 10. With Dragon potentially added to her lineup, she continues to expand her filmography across regional and Bollywood films.
