The Indian cricket team brought home the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 after a nail-biting match against New Zealand. Rohit Sharma and his boys won by 4 wickets and won the trophy after 12 years. Needless to say, as soon as the team made the winning run, the countrymen erupted in celebration. From common people to Bollywood stars, everyone expressed their love for the Men in Blue.
Anushka Sharma, who was in the stadium in Dubai, rushed towards Virat Kohli to hug him after the match. KL Rahul’s wife Athiya, who could not be there physically due to her pregnancy, put up posts on Instagram congratulating the team.
Alia Bhatt took to Instagram and re-posted Team India’s official winning post. Vicky Kaushal, on the other hand, shared a story on Instagram and wrote, “Unstoppable!!! The absolute best.” Kiara Advani and Sidharth Malhotra also shared the same post on their respective social media handles.
Ajay Devgn had the most hilarious reaction. He uploaded a short clip of Kajol on Instagram from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham where the actress’ character can be heard saying “Hum jeet gaye” (We won the march). In the film, she said these lines when India won a cricket match. Sharing the video, the actor wrote, “Hamare ghar mein aaj bhi yehi maahol hai… Congratulations Team India!!”
Bobby Deol shared a video where he can be seen standing in front of a television set and watching the match. As soon as Ravindra Jadeja hit the winning shot, the actor started cheering and said, “Yes, we did it!”
On the other hand, Ayushmann Khurrana who was on the set of his next project, celebrated with the cast and crew. The entire team can be seen jumping and cheering in joy as India lifted the trophy. The actor wrote in the caption, “Shoot ruk jaati hai jab India jeet jaata hai! #championstrophy2025 #winners #worldchampions #Thama”
Several other celebrities, too, expressed their joy and hailed the Indian team. Those include Varun Dhawan, Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Allu Arjun, Samantha and more.
