TV actress Mahhi Vij recently found herself at the centre of online chatter after she shared a deeply emotional birthday post for her close friend Nadim Nadz. While the message was meant to be heartfelt and personal, it quickly sparked link up rumours on social media, drawing unwanted attention and criticism.
Reacting to the growing controversy, Salman Khan’s sister Arpita Khan Sharma came out in support of Nadim and Mahhi. Taking to her Instagram Story, Arpita called out the trolling and wrote, “@nadz.nadz if someone like you can get called out, then I wonder the world we are living in.” Her statement highlighted the harsh judgement both Nadim and Mahhi have been facing online.
The controversy began after Mahhi shared a photo with Nadim along with a long birthday note, where she spoke about the emotional bond they share. In her post, she described him as her chosen family and safe space, writing, “Happy Birthday to the one I chose, not by chance, but by heart… you are my family, my safe place, my forever.” The note was further amplified when a post from daughter Tara’s Instagram referred to Nadim as “Abba,” which led to intense speculation.
As the trolling escalated, Mahhi’s former husband Jay Bhanushali stepped in to shut down the rumours and defend her, with Ankita Lokhande also voicing her discomfort over how the situation was being portrayed. Mahhi later addressed the issue herself through a video.
On the personal front, Mahhi and Jay recently announced their separation after 16 years of marriage and confirmed that they will continue to co-parent their children Tara, Khushi and Rajveer.
