Take a seat! Marvel Studios has announced that production for the highly-anticipated Avengers: Doomsday has begun. The news arrived on a livestream where the film’s full cast line-up was revealed. The star-studded cast has a bunch of familiar characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe along with a few fresh additions. Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, the film is all set to release on May 1, 2026.
Marvel has confirmed the return of several X-Men characters, superheroes form the Infinity saga and concluded the announcements with Robert Downey Jr. who was announced as Doctor Doom not long ago. The text on his announcement post reads, “It all leads to Doom.”

Who’s not on the Avengers: Doomsday cast list?
It is safe to say that Marvel has pulled out all the stops to align some of the biggest stars for Doomsday. But some names are not in the announcements. Spider-Man actor Tom Holland, Chris Pratt’s Star-Lord, Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk and Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch are not a part of the ensemble.
Avengers: Doomsday releases in May 2026, and Avengers: Secret Wars is set to arrive in May 2027.
