
Bengaluru police recently arrested a man for the alleged murder of his wife. The man, Rakesh, who hails from Maharashtra, is being accused of killing his wife and stuffing her body in a suitcase before fleeing to Pune. He was tracked down by the police using call detail records and is now in Satara police’s custody.
The accused’s father revealed what his son told him after committing the murder
According to a report by India Today, the crime came to light after Rakesh called his parents and confessed to having murdered his wife. The victim is identified as 32-year-old Gauri Anil Sambekar. In an interview with India Today, the accused’s father, Rajendra, revealed how his son called him and told him that he had murdered his wife, Gauri, after the fight. He revealed that his son called him in the afternoon and told him what he had done. He added that Rakesh had told him that he was going to commit suicide as well. Elaborating on the same, the father stated:
“Rakesh ne mereko dopahar ko call kiya tha, vo raat ko 12 bjey nikla. Usney mereko bola sabko bol do, uski maa ko bol do ki maine aaisa kiya hai. Usney bola Bengaluru mei bhi sabko bol do. Usney mereko bataya ki usney aaisa kiya hai aur bola ‘mai bhi suicide karne waala hu. Mai zinda nahi rahunga’. Maine usko bola aaisa mat karna tu. Tu idhar aa, hum police station mei jaayenge, unko boldenge ki aaise aaise hua hai. Toh vo bola theek hai lekin ussey pehle hi vo police station chala gaya.”
