Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan reunited after almost 16 years for the horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla, and it is finally in theatres. The film also brings together Kumar with Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav and the late Asrani. Now, the streaming partner of the film has also been announced.
As per early reviews Bhooth Bangla has received a mixed response, with some liking the plot and others finding it repetitive.
About Bhooth Bangla
The story centres on Arjun Acharya (Akshay Kumar), a financially struggling man living in London who unexpectedly inherits a palace in a small town in India. He decides to host his sister’s long-delayed wedding at the sprawling but ominous property. However, the mansion carries a chilling reputation: a long-standing legend claims that no bride survives in the town. As preparations begin, strange and increasingly terrifying incidents start to unfold. We get to witness ghostly apparitions, unexplained disturbances and bizarre occurrences that unsettle both the family and the locals.

Cast
The film brings back Priyadarshan’s frequent collaborators, along with other actors he has worked for the first time. It stars Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Asrani, Jisshu Sengupta, Tabu, Wamiqa Gabbi, Mithila Palkar, Manoj Joshi and Rajesh Sharma, among others.

When will it release on OTT
Netflix was shown as the streaming partner in the opening credits of the film. Generally, a film releases on OTT after almost 45 to 60 days of its theatrical run. So one can expect Bhooth Bangla to be released on Netflix in June. However, an official announcement is awaited.
Filmfare’s Review of Bhooth Bangla
Filmfare’s reviewer gave the film 3 out of 5 stars and wrote, “All in all, the film offers fleeting glimpses of Priyadarshan’s once-formidable craft. At his peak, he delivered Malayalam classics like Boeing Boeing (1985) and Chithram (1988), while his Hindi films like Hera Pheri (2000) and Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007) have achieved cult status. The hallmark of those works was their tightly constructed screenplays. Sadly, that crucial element is missing here…”
