Megastar Chiranjeevi’s latest collaboration with director Bobby Kolli has officially begun. Tentatively titled ChiruBobby2, the project has moved into its active phase following a successful look test this week, with the first picture from the session released today. Early glimpses suggest that the actor is diving deep into character. The role may require a notable makeover, considering reports that it is a gangster action drama.

This follows the release of a striking concept poster that teased a gritty and intense version of the star. Everything points to a role far removed from standard commercial tropes. Aggressive action sequences are expected. With the aesthetic details finalised, the production team is preparing for a traditional launch ceremony, which will immediately lead into the first major filming schedule.
The road to this commencement was not without hurdles. Production house KVN Productions reportedly faced delays recently due to issues surrounding Jana Nayagan. The film is being produced by the same banner behind Vijay’s project. This had led to speculation within the industry that the Chiranjeevi film might face a roadblock. However, the team has effectively silenced those reports by moving ahead with the project. To make up for lost time, the makers have planned a rigorous production timeline. Shooting is now set to proceed at a rapid pace.
Waltair Veerayya duo is back
Chiranjeevi and Bobby’s reunion is particularly significant following the massive success of Waltair Veerayya, which dominated the box office upon its release in January 2023. Naturally, expectations are high for this big-budget film, and the makers have also expressed confidence in the project. Chiranjeevi is currently working on the socio-fantasy epic Vishwambhara. He is also riding high on the momentum of his previous outing, Mana Shankara Vara Prasad Garu, which emerged as a certified blockbuster.
