Delnaaz Irani was best known for her role as ‘Sweetu Kapoor’ in Shah Rukh Khan, Preity Zinta and Saif Ali Khan starrer, Kal Ho Naa Ho. The actress was married to Rajeev Paul back in 1998, and it was in 2012 that she put an end to her 14-year-old-long marriage. The actress was also known for her role as ‘Kavita Bose’ in Yess Boss. It was tough for the actress to quit her marriage after 14 years. However, even after her divorce, Delnaaz had financial burden on her head which she got rid of due to Bigg Boss.
Delnaaz Irani credits Bigg Boss for helping her with her financial stress
Delnaaz, in the latest interview with The Free Press Journal’s chat titled, Sheroes revealed what led to the fallout of her and Rajeev’s marriage. She admitted that after getting separated from Rajeev, she was dealing with a set of financial challenges and credited the Bigg Boss show for helping her come out of the same. In her words:
“I was going through a bad phase personally when we (Rajeev Paul and I) were separated. I was going through my divorce and I had a loan on my head which I had to pay off. It was for my house and I had had a big fat loan. So, by the grace of God, I got Bigg Boss and paid it off with the money I earned from the show. I don’t think there was anything major.”
