Sridevi handled girls better
In an exclusive chat with Editor-in-Chief Jitesh Pillaai for Filmfare OTT Women’s Day Showcase, Maheep Kapoor opened up about sister-in-law Sridevi’s bond with her daughter Shanaya. She shared, “Sridevi was pure magic. She used to walk in like a queen at the Karwa Chauth celebration. She was very motherly. Shanaya’s ears were first pierced by Sridevi. I was very paranoid, but Sri [Sridevi] took Shanaya aside and did the procedure with ease.”

Maheep further shared that Shanaya’s first phone was also given by Sridevi. She recalled, “Shanaya wanted a phone, but I refused to give it to her because she was too young. Sridevi purchased the phone for Shanaya. She was like, If Janhvi and Khushi have phones, Shanaya should also have it. When Sanjay and I used to travel, we would leave the kids with Sridevi. She would handle girls better. My son (Jahaan) would jump and play at her house and she would go mad.”
Maheep says Shanaya is mature
Opening up about her daughter, Maheep shared, “Shanaya is very young. I feel she’s a very mature and centred girl. She has seen what her father’s gone through. She’s grown up in the film industry. The family – Anil, Boney, Arjun, when we meet together, what do you think we talk about? The conversation is about the movies.”
She added, “Shanaya and Jahaan have grown up hearing all this. This has been their foundation. Shanaya luckily, has not let this [setback] get to her and she has signed 3-4 films. She’s taken off and her focus is this.”
