Fatima Sana Shaikh became a well-known name after her breakthrough role in the 2016 sports drama Dangal. The film was a massive hit both in India and abroad, launching her into the spotlight and making her one of the most promising talents in the industry. While Dangal is widely seen as her big break, many don’t know that Fatima had already shared screen space with Aamir Khan years before.
Her acting career actually began in childhood and she had appeared in several films as a young artist, including Chachi 420, Bade Dilwala and One 2 Ka 4. During an interview, Fatima shared a little-known fact about her past — she featured in Aamir Khan’s 1997 romantic comedy Ishq. In a brief scene from the film, she played a child held in arms by Kajol while Aamir Khan delivered one of the most memorable moments of the movie.
This small but special appearance surprised the hosts who admitted that they would have to rewatch the film to spot her. Fatima laughed as she recalled the memory, noting how surreal it feels to look back on such an early moment with one of the biggest stars of Bollywood.
Despite her early experience in front of the camera, it wasn’t until Dangal that Fatima received major recognition. The film also starred Sanya Malhotra, Zaira Wasim, Sakshi Tanwar and Aparshakti Khurana, and it went on to break numerous box office records while earning widespread praise.
Looking ahead, Fatima continues to build her career with several exciting projects. She will be seen in Metro… In Dino directed by Anurag Basu, Ul Jalool Ishq alongside Vijay Varma and Naseeruddin Shah, and Aap Jaisa Koi in which she will star with R Madhavan.
