Govinda is one of the most popular actors in the Hindi film industry. He gained fame for his exceptional acting skills, impeccable comic timing, and impressive dance moves. He ruled the ’90s with his successful films but was often called out for his tardiness, which used to irk some filmmakers and his co-actors. Recently, Nikkhil Advani, who directed the actor in the 2007 film, Salaam-E-Ishq, opened up about the actor’s different behaviour on set.
Govinda was on his ‘best behaviour’ on set, reveals Nikkhil Advani
Govinda, who rose to the peak of success in his career during the 1990s, faced a rough patch in the late 2000s. In this context, Nikkhil Advani, who directed the actor in the multi-starrer film, Salaam-E-Ishq in 2007, mentioned that since the actor’s fame was decreasing during those years, he had put up his best behaviour on the set and was working hard for his comeback. He elaborated:
“Govinda would ask me, ‘How do you want this scene—Italian, Mughlai, Indian, Chinese?’ He would put out a buffet of ideas, and I got him at a good time. He was at a very low at that point. He was shooting for Partner and Salaam-E-Ishq simultaneously, so he was behaving himself. He wanted to prove everyone wrong.”
