Robert Pattinson is reportedly in talks to join the Dune universe. The actor might star in the next instalment of the sci-fi film franchise helmed by Denis Villeneuve. If speculations are proved to be true, he will join the Timothee Chalamet and Zendaya starrer.
Who will Robert Pattinson play in Dune 3?
As per reports on Variety, Robert Pattinson is being eyed for a role in Dune 3. He is expected to play the role of Scytale, who is a formidable, shape-shifting villain in the Dune universe. While the reports haven’t been confirmed, the fandom is buzzing with excitement over the thought of Pattinson facing off against Chalamet in the upcoming film. The star-studded ensemble cast includes Florence Pugh, Anya Taylor-Joy, Javier Bardem and Charlotte Rampling, among others.
Last year, the studio behind the films confirmed that the next instalment is in the works. The film will arrive in theatres in December 2026. Production is expected to begin sometime in summer this year. The plot is based on Frank Herbert’s novel Dune Messiah. Set 12 years after the events of the first novel, the story follows Paul Atreides’ attempts to put an end to ongoing conflicts.

Pattinson was last seen in Bong Joon-ho’s Mickey 17. He will next be seen in Christopher Nolan’s star-studded The Odyssey. Based on Homer’s epic, the film also features Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Charlize Theron, Matt Damon and Lupita Nyong’o, among others. He is also set to star in the dark comedy thriller Die, My Love alongside Jennifer Lawrence, romantic comedy film, The Drama with Zendaya, Mamoudou Athie and more, and crime drama Primetime, which also features Phoebe Bridgers and more.
