The Department of Mass Media at Jai Hind College hosted its annual media conclave, Constellation, on January 23 and 24, 2025. The two-day event featured a stellar lineup of guest speakers, interactive sessions, and exciting activities, bringing together students, professionals, and media enthusiasts from diverse age groups and demographics. With esteemed media partners Filmfare and Femina on board, this year’s event was a perfect blend of education, creativity, and entertainment.
The first day involved an electrifying session with Yashraj, a rising star in the Indian hip-hop scene. His captivating storytelling and artistry instantly energized the audience.
The day continued with thought-provoking panels, including a Director’s Panel and a Musician’s Panel. The Director’s Panel featured acclaimed filmmakers like Arjun Varain Singh, director of Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, and Collin D’Cunha, director of Call Me Bae, among others. Meanwhile, the Musician’s Panel brought together industry heavyweights, including Shivansh Jindal, CEO of Merchant Records, along with celebrated musicians Clinton Cerejo and Bianca Gomes. Together, these sessions provided students with invaluable insights into the intricacies of filmmaking and music production.
The audience was also treated to other engaging events. Filmfare hosted a fun-filled Bollywood Trivia session, while Femina organised a Best Dressed Challenge that added a dash of glamour to the conclave.
Day two began on an exhilarating note with a much-anticipated session featuring acclaimed filmmaker Vikramaditya Motwane and photographer Ishika Motwane. Speaking together on a stage for the first time ever, the duo captivated the audience by sharing stories behind their celebrated projects and posters.
Another highlight of the day was a reunion panel by FilmKaravan, which brought together the cast and crew of the film What Are The Odds, including Yashaswini Dayama, Karanvir Malhotra, and Megha Ramaswamy. Their behind-the-scenes anecdotes provided a delightful peek into the making of the film.
Panchami Ghavri, the casting director behind hits like Kapoor & Sons and Gehraiyaan, took the audience into the fascinating world of casting. Meanwhile, Rushindra Sinha, CEO of Global Esports, shed light on the rapidly growing esports industry in India and globally, opening students’ minds to emerging career opportunities.
The conclave wrapped up on a humorous and light-hearted note with Dhruv Shah and Shyam Sharma of Funcho. The popular content creators shared their journey to online fame and the nuances of creating relatable content for a digital audience. To keep the energy alive, challenges like “Hook Step” and “Guess the Actor from the Dialogue,” organized by Filmfare and Femina, ensured non-stop fun between sessions and delightful gifts for the attendees.
Constellation 2025 was a resounding success, perfectly balancing learning and entertainment. The students walked away not only with invaluable knowledge from industry leaders but also with unforgettable memories of interactive activities and creative panels. This year’s conclave reaffirmed Jai Hind College’s commitment to bridging the gap between academia and industry, making Constellation a premier event for aspiring media professionals.
