“Kangana Ki Beti Bhi”, Salman Khan Opens Up On Nepotism During Sikandar Promotions

Salman Khan is promoting his much-anticipated film Sikandar in full swing and during a media interaction at a Mumbai hotel on Wednesday, the actor shared candid insights on a range of topics, from his film to the ongoing debate on nepotism in Bollywood.

Reflecting on his journey in the industry, Salman dismissed the idea of being a ‘self-made’ star. He emphasised that success is never an individual effort but rather the result of teamwork. Acknowledging his father’s role in shaping his path, he pointed out that had his father not moved from Indore to Mumbai, he might have been leading a completely different life. He admitted that while he had the option to return, he chose to follow his father’s footsteps and carve a space for himself in films. Addressing the buzzword that often fuels heated discussions, he remarked that people today label such situations with terms like nepotism, adding humorously that he finds the term quite amusing.

During the conversation, the topic of emerging talent in Bollywood came up and a journalist mentioned Raveena Tandon’s daughter making her debut. Salman, mishearing the name, assumed Kangana Ranaut was being referenced and he appeared surprised.

With a touch of humour, he jokingly questioned whether Kangana’s daughter would also step into films or venture into politics. As the journalists clarified, he acknowledged that every individual, regardless of their background, has to forge their own path.

Encouraging audiences to visit theatres, Salman urged moviegoers to celebrate Eid by supporting the big releases. Expressing his hopes for a successful box office season, he mentioned that fans have multiple films to look forward to, including Sikandar, Mohanlal’s L2: Empuraan and Sunny Deol’s Jaat. He wished success for all the films, noting that three major stars are bringing big projects to the screens.

Sikandar, featuring Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Sathyaraj and Sharman Joshi, is set to hit theatres on May 30, coinciding with the festive occasion of Eid.
