Kangana Ranaut is known as the most controversial Hindi film actress. She always hogs the limelight for her reported rifts with famous stars in Bollywood. One of them was veteran lyricist, Javed Akhtar, with whom she had a long-running legal battle. For the unversed, Kangana and Javed’s legal battle started in 2020 after the lyricist filed a complaint against her, claiming she made defamatory remarks against Javed in a TV interview. Now, after five years, the case has been resolved, and Kangana shared a social media update related to the same.

A while back, Kangana had taken to her Instagram story section to share a picture of herself with Javed. The picture was taken at a magistrate court in Bandra on February 28, 2025, where both parties settled their five-year-long dispute. The Queen actress had worn a pink-hued saree with her hair neatly tied in a bun. Javed, on the other side, had worn a simple white kurta. According to an India Today report, Akhtar and Ranaut had reportedly reached the magistrate’s court at 10.30 Am. Present were Magistrate Ashish Awari and their lawyers, Jay K. Bharadwaj and Rizwan Siddiquee. While sharing the defamation case update, Kangana mentioned:
“Today, Javed ji and I have resolved our legal matter (defamation case) through mediation. In the mediation, Javed ji has been very kind and gracious. He also agreed to write songs for my next directorial.”
