It was on Saturday, i.e. April 25, 2026, when a gunman opened fire outside the ballroom during the White House Correspondents Dinner. The incident took place nearly 20 minutes later when Donald Trump and Melania entered the Washington Hilton Ballroom.
If a report by The Associated Press is to be believed, five to eight shots were fired, and no official statement was released instantly until the President released one, roughly 30 minutes after the incident. As the shooting incident has been grabbing the attention, it’s the White House press secretary, Karoline Leavitt’s, past remark that has been grabbing the attention.

She also mentioned that the President will bring the heat, and some ‘shots will be fired’.
