Kartik Aaryan recently opened up about his “love-hate relationship” with Karan Johar, especially after their film Dostana 2 was shelved. At a recent event, Kartik was shown a photo of himself with Karan Johar, where the director is playfully pulling Kartik’s ear while the actor folds his hands. Kartik laughed and said, “What do I say to this? I think this is a love and hate relationship. This photo represents that perfectly.”
Kartik recalled that the photo was taken before they started filming Dostana 2. While he didn’t directly mention the film, he explained, “This was the moment when our first film, which was supposed to happen, was signed. I think Karan already knew, so he took the picture beforehand.”
For context, Karan Johar had planned to make the sequel to Dostana with Kartik Aaryan and Janhvi Kapoor. The original starred Abhishek Bachchan, Priyanka Chopra, and John Abraham. However, Dostana 2 was shelved, causing tension between Kartik and Karan. Thankfully, things have been resolved now, and the two are working together on a new project, Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri.
Kartik expressed his excitement about this new collaboration, saying, “Now I’m working with him on this film, and I hope it happens. I will give my full effort, and he will too.” He also mentioned that the film would be very special, though details about his co-star remain unknown.
