The former actress has received severe backlash since she was appointed and has now announced her resignation amid internal conflicts. The actress took to her Instagram handle on February 10, 2025, and shared a video sharing the news. In the clip, Mamta can be heard saying:
“I, Mahamandaleshwar Yamai Mamta Nandgiri, am resigning from this post. The respect given to me was for my 25 years of penance, but some people have a problem with me being Mahamandaleshwar.”
