She was made the ‘Mahamandaleshwar’ in the Kinnar Akhada with the actress’ coronation ceremony. She reportedly performed the Pind Daan at the holy Sangam.
Spiritual gurus question the ordination of the former actress, Mamta Kulkarni as the leader of Kinnar Akhada
After the ordination of the actress, Transgender Kathavackak Jagatguru Himangi Sakhi Maa has spoken out on Mamta Kulkarni, being appointed as Mahamandleshwar of the Kinnar Akhada, that took place during the Maha Kumbh. In a conversation with ANI, Himangi Sakhi questioned the basis and credibility of the actress’s appointment. She cited some incidents from Mamta Kulkarni’s past and stated that she feels that the former actress was not the right pick for such a title. She was quoted saying:
“The Kinnar Akhada has made Mamta Kulkarni Mahamandleshwar for publicity. Society knows her past very well. She was even jailed in the past in connection with drug cases. Suddenly, she arrives in India, participates in the Maha Kumbh, and is given the position of Mahamandleshwar. This needs investigation.”
