Margaret Qualley on why she thought men would hurt her
Just a few months before news of Margaret Qualley and Jack Antonoff’s divorce broke, the actress had opened up about her career and how her husband played a fundamental role in helping her find confidence in herself. According to her, she began working at a very young age, which naturally left her feeling overwhelmed at the start of her career. She couldn’t comfortably be herself and believed that women would hate her while men could hurt her. She was quoted as saying:
“I started working so young, and when I first started acting, I was just overwhelmed. I felt like if I were fully myself, women would hate me and men would hurt me. And so that took away some of the tools that come with being a woman because I was scared. Gradually, now that I feel like I have more control of my life, I can kind of lean more into the sensual and the feminine.”
