Jasprit Jasbirsingh Bumrah is the first and only bowler in the world of cricket who reached the ‘number one’ position in all three formats of the game, ODIs, T20Is, and Tests. Considered as one of the greatest bowlers of all time, Jasprit Bumrah needs no introduction. One can measure the level of his stature in Indian cricket by the fact that the entire nation came to a standstill when a source close to BCCI revealed that Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy due to a lower back injury.
For the uninitiated, Jasprit sustained this injury when he was bowling against Australia in Sydney in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. In Bumrah’s place, the selectors have reportedly included Harshit Rana in the squad as the star bowler’s replacement in the 15-member team. This is not the first time we have seen people going absolutely disappointed and furious to see Bumrah missing out on a major tournament because of injury.
