For the unversed, the film directed by David Frenkel features Anne Hathaway, Merely Streep, Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci, Simone Ashley and more. While the film is yet to release, it is already generating a lot of buzz on social media. Amid that, Meryl Streep recently revealed that she had almost denied being a part of this franchise in 2006.

Recently, the much respected and celebrated actress, Meryl Streep sat down for a candid conversation with Deadline, during which she opened up about almost rejecting the movie, The Devil Wears Prada in 2006. However, she eventually agreed when the makers of the blockbuster movie agreed to pay her a high paycheque. Meryl Streep was quoted as saying:
“I read the script. Script was great. And they called me up and they made an offer, and I said, ‘No, not going to do it.’ I knew it was going to be a hit, and I wanted to see if I doubled my ask. And they went right away and said sure. And I thought, I’m 50, 60, it took me this long to understand that I could do that. They needed me, I felt. … I was ready to retire. But, you know, that was a lesson.”
