We are talking about the biggest night in the fashion world, The Met Gala. Held on the first Monday of May, we are officially a week away from the star-studded night, and fans can’t wait to see who will be making an appearance this year and what our beloved celebrities will be wearing to the big event. So, as the countdown begins, let’s take a quick look at what this year’s event has in store for us.
What is The Met Gala about?
The Met Gala, formally known as the Costume Institute Benefit, is the annual haute couture fundraiser for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute on the Museum Mile of Fifth Avenue in Manhattan. The Met Gala was established in 1948 by fashion publicist Eleanor Lambert as a fundraiser for the newly founded Costume Institute to mark the opening of its annual exhibit. The first ticket to the fashion dinner was priced at USD 50 and was simply one of the many annual benefits held for NY charitable institutions.
