What was Ned Jarrett’s cause of death?
As we mentioned, it was Ned Jarrett’s family who announced the news of his death. They revealed that the former NASCAR driver had passed away at his home in Newton, North Carolina, on Thursday, June 4, 2026, at the age of 93. He had reportedly passed away peacefully from natural causes. In a statement that the family shared with Fox Sports reporter, Bob Jarett, they recalled Ned as a loving father, a devoted Christian, and a friend to all those he met. They said:
“Our father was a devout Christian and a devoted, loving family man. He was a friend to everyone he met and NASCAR’s oldest living champion. By all accounts, he was a true NASCAR legend. While we mourn his passing, we celebrate the remarkable life of an amazing man and truly the best father anyone could have wished for. Rest in Peace, Dad.”
