Neeraj, during an interview with India Today, shared that he had always known Himani and that both her parents have been Kabaddi players. Her brothers were boxers and wrestlers. She herself was a tennis player, but after picking up injuries, she focused more on her studies. Dwelling details about his love life, he shared that they engaged in conversations as both were athletes. In his words:
“Hamari baat waise hi start hui thi as an athelte. Toh phir dheere dheere woh bhi pura sports family se belong karte hai. Pura family sports background se hai aur mere start karne ke baad meri family sports family ban gayi. Aise hi family ka kahi milna hota tha kahi jagah pe, jaise unka hamari baat start hui thi dheere dheere phir aise laga ki haa.”
