Mythri Movie Makers has taken an unexpected step regarding ticket pricing for Ustaad Bhagat Singh in the Nizam region, which includes the crucial Hyderabad market. Advance bookings opened on Monday without any additional price hikes for regular shows. Ustaad Bhagat Singh is one of the biggest star-driven releases of the year, and surge pricing for the first few days was widely expected. However, the makers have sprung a last-minute surprise. Normal pricing has come as a pleasant relief for audiences planning to watch the film in its first week, especially during the Ugadi holiday season. Exhibitors are now expecting wider footfalls. While screenings are set to begin with early morning shows on March 19, official permission for premiere shows on the release date is expected in due course.

Netizens applaud the move
Movie buffs, who have long been critical of the “big-ticket tax” associated with high-budget star vehicles, have welcomed the decision. Social media has frequently seen complaints about ticket prices for blockbuster films nearly doubling. A viral post from 2024 had argued, “Cinema is a common man’s escape, not a luxury for the elite.” Many believe that exorbitant pricing has pushed families towards OTT platforms instead of theatres. The decision by Mythri Movie Makers is now being widely appreciated, with fans hoping that normal pricing will make the theatrical experience more accessible. Ticket rates are expected to be higher in Andhra Pradesh. Recently, Pawan Kalyan also commented that theatrical viewing is not a necessity, given that audiences now have access to OTT platforms.

The iconic duo returns: A feast for fans
For fans, Ustaad Bhagat Singh marks the reunion of the popular actor-director duo Pawan Kalyan and Harish Shankar. Their previous collaboration, Gabbar Singh, remains one of the most celebrated commercial entertainers.
