However, Belmont couldn’t match with Brendan, and then doctors at Northwestern started looking for a potential recipient named Clotilde Ruiz, whose daughter wasn’t a match for her. The patient’s daughter’s kidney matched even someone else’s, and this is how, while saving a childhood friend, the actor became part of a 14-person organ donation chain that saved seven lives.
