Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus Padmaavat will be re-released in theatres on January 24, 2025. The film featuring Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh, and Shahid Kapoor completes seven years since its release.
Padmaavat, based on the poem titled Padmavat by Malik Muhammad Jayasi, tells the tale of Rani Padmavati’s legendary beauty, her defiance against the ruthless Sultan Alauddin Khilji, and her unyielding courage.
When the film was released in 2018, it became a crowd-puller with the visual spectacle and the cast’s stellar performances.
The decision to re-release Padmaavat comes in recognition of the immense love and continued popularity it enjoys among fans. As it turns seven, the film’s emotional and visual impact remains. Earlier several Bollywood films including Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani and others were re-released in theatres.
