Veteran actor and filmmaker Manoj Kumar, fondly known as Bharat Kumar for his patriotic roles, passed away on April 4 in Mumbai at the age of 87. His funeral took place with full state honours on Saturday. Draped in the Indian tricolour, his mortal remains were taken from his residence in an ambulance decorated with flag-themed garlands — a fitting tribute to the man who symbolised nationalism on screen.
