In a recent interview with Miss Malini, the actor was asked about his thoughts behind sharing the picture. In his response, R Madhavan shared the funny backstory behind the picture and mentioned that it all started when he was on a call with his wife, Sarita. She asked him whether he had lost weight or not. To answer this question, he quickly clicked his selfie and shared it with his wife as proof. Recalling the incident, he said:
“Breaking the internet was not even a thing back then. My wife asked me if I had lost weight, and I said, ‘No, no, I’m shooting for Vikram Vedha.’ So, I went to the window, took a selfie, and sent it to her saying, ‘Patla ho gaya hu bhai.'”
