
Filmmaker, Rakesh Roshan has seen his struggles both in personal and professional life. His daughter, Sunaina, battled cervical cancer, fatty liver disease, and brain tuberculosis. Rakesh, in his documentary titled, The Roshans, shared how his daughter became his strength when he underwent financial loss, which made him switch from acting to directing. He also had to face the wrath of a deadly shooting incident back in 2000, after Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai was released. Rakesh’s fight with throat cancer in 2019 was also not an easy sojourn.

During a recent interview with News 18, Rakesh shared that his Sunaina became a pillar of support when tough times came on him. He said he had learnt a lot about dealing with struggles from her. In his words:
“She went through a lot of illnesses and surgeries since childhood. But she always been very brave and used to laugh at the face of hardships. She has always been a very happy person and that that taught me a lot. I believe that no matter what the situation is, we should be happy and content.”
