Nitesh Tiwari’s upcoming mythological epic, Ramayana, continues to generate buzz well before its theatrical release. With an ensemble cast including Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, Yash, Sunny Deol, and Ravie Dubey, the film has become one of the most talked-about releases of 2026. Recent reports indicate that the makers are now reviving plans for an international premiere, a move that had previously been shelved.
According to reports, the makers are actively exploring the possibility of hosting a large-scale launch event in the UAE, with Dubai emerging as the preferred destination. Earlier this year, this proposal was paused due to geopolitical tensions across West Asia. However, with the situation believed to have stabilized after recent diplomatic developments, discussions on this international event have resumed.

Inside the production, the potential event is being referred to as the Desert Premiere with October 28 currently being considered as the tentative date. Preparations have reportedly started, and various venues across Dubai are being evaluated to host this high-profile occasion. If these plans materialize, the event is expected to feature the film’s main cast, including Ranbir Kapoor, Sai Pallavi, and Yash, who would attend the celebration with the filmmakers.
Providing insight into the decision-making process, a source told Mid-Day, “In April, the idea was put on hold because the timing didn’t feel right. Now that the situation has eased, the team is again exploring the possibility of taking Ramayana to Dubai. The city was always the preferred choice because of its ability to host large-scale events and the Indian diaspora.”

Ramayana stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama and Sai Pallavi as Sita, while Yash plays Ravana. Sunny Deol will appear as Lord Hanuman, with Ravie Dubey playing Lakshman. The film, backed by producer Namit Malhotra, will release in cinemas during Diwali 2026. If the Dubai event proceeds as planned, it could mark one of the largest international premieres ever organised for an Indian film.
