Good news for Legally Blonde fans as the new Elle is here! Reese Witherspoon has officially handed over the responsibility to actress Lexi Minetree who will star as Elle Woods in the highly anticipated prequel series of the iconic film. Witherspoon shared an exclusive first look image on her Instagram to announce the beginning of the series titled Elle.
Actor and producer Reese Witherspoon, who played the legendary pop-culture icon Elle Woods in Legally Blonde and Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde, announced the exciting update in a joint Instagram post with Lexi Minetree, Amazon MGM Studios, Prime Video and Witherspoon’s media company Hello Sunshine.
The post featured an image of Minetree, who will be portraying a young Elle Woods in the new series. The character poster sees Minetree dressed in a pink sweatshirt. She is lying down on her bed. She is talking to someone over a landline phone. Sharing it, Reese wrote, “Harvard was hard. High School was harder. Our new series, Elle, is now in production! Couldn’t be more excited to introduce you all to @leximinetree as Elle Woods” Take a look:
As soon as she put up the post, fans of the film and her character took to the comment section to express their excitement. One of the fans said, “Super duper excited!” while another comment read, “I’m so excited for this I know this going to be the event of the season” A third fan commented, “his makes me so so happy. Women need more role models like Elle.”
